Terms of Service

By accessing or using moveabroadrentals.com and moveabroadrentals.ca (the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

The Platform is operated by Move Abroad Rentals, a corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (“we”, “us”, “our”).

1. What We Provide

Move Abroad Rentals is a curated directory of furnished, long-term rental listings in Mexico, Portugal, and Thailand. We source, translate, and display rental information to help Canadians and English-speaking professionals find housing abroad.

We are not a real estate brokerage, property manager, or rental agent. We do not own, manage, or guarantee any property listed on the Platform. All rental agreements are between the renter and the landlord or realtor.

2. Accounts

You may browse the Platform without an account (limited access). To access full listing details, save favourites, or subscribe, you must create an account with a valid email address.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

Paid subscriptions (Explorer and Nomad Pro) are billed monthly in Canadian dollars (CAD) through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise recurring monthly charges until you cancel.

  • Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Access continues until the end of your current billing period.
  • Refunds: If you cancel within 14 days of your first subscription payment, you may request a full refund by emailing hello@moveabroadrentals.com. After 14 days, payments are non-refundable.
  • Price changes: We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days’ email notice. Price changes take effect on your next billing cycle after the notice period.

4. Listing Accuracy & Limitations

We make reasonable efforts to ensure listing information is accurate and current. However:

  • Listings are submitted by verified landlords and realtors and translated by AI. Details may contain inaccuracies.
  • Currency conversions are updated nightly but may not reflect real-time exchange rates.
  • Rental availability, pricing, and terms may change without notice on the source platform.
  • AI quality scores are advisory only and do not constitute a guarantee of listing quality.
  • Neighbourhood pins show approximate locations, not exact addresses.

We recommend verifying all listing details directly with the landlord or realtor before entering into any rental agreement.

5. Verified Partner Program

Landlords and realtors may apply to list properties through our Verified Partner program. By applying:

  • You confirm that all information provided is accurate and complete.
  • You authorise us to verify your credentials against public registries (realtors) or through document review (private landlords).
  • You grant us a non-exclusive license to translate, display, and promote your listing on the Platform.
  • You agree that verification documents submitted are reviewed and permanently deleted after processing.
  • We reserve the right to remove any listing or revoke partner status at our discretion.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, copy, or reproduce Platform content without written permission
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent access restrictions
  • Submit false or misleading information in partner applications
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with the Platform’s operation or security

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Any losses arising from rental transactions between you and a landlord or realtor
  • Inaccuracies in listing translations, currency conversions, or AI quality scores
  • The actions, conduct, or reliability of any Verified Partner
  • Losses resulting from service interruptions, data loss, or security breaches

Our total liability for any claim related to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Intellectual Property

All Platform content — including text, translations, design, code, AI-generated scores, and the Move Abroad Rentals brand — is owned by Move Abroad Rentals or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

Listing content submitted by Verified Partners remains the property of the partner. By submitting, partners grant us a non-exclusive license to translate, format, and display the content.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
